| | Swaim Hutson founded Obedient Sons in 2002. After working in the industry in production and as a design assistant for many years, Swaim decided to experiment on his own. The menswear collection at that time lent itself to more of a casual heritage with tees, button-fronts and twill pants. Obedient Sons continued to grow and Swaim relocated the brand to New York to then re-launch the label in 2007 with new structure and Swaim's wife, Christina Hutson as design partner. The focus turned to classic tailoring for men, and then women to follow. This new collaboration re-launched the brand on a designer level platform and eventually grew into Obedient Sons and Daughters with the addition of the women's collection for Fall 2008. Swaim and Christina share an artistic vision and commitment to fit, craftsmanship and brand identity that has earned them critical acclaim and loyal consumer base. In February of 2008, the Huston's were nominated for the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA)'s prestigious "Best New Menswear Designer in America" award, held in partnership with GQ magazine. |
