Designer Zip Stevenson began searching the country in 1993 for authentic, vintage leather belts. Part history lesson and part reclamation project, he quickly learned of the high demand for these classic, handmade leather accessories and found that the most intricately designed belts, which were the most popular, were the most difficult to come by. Accordingly, he began to make his own versions of them. In 2000, bowing to the tremendous demand for his belts, Zip Stevenson established the "Hollywood Trading Company" brand name under which this unique vision and style of timeless fashion accessories was realized. Inspired by the beauty of collectable vintage clothing, Hollywood Trading Company goods are made with low tech, artisan methods, rather than the precise conformity of the high tech mass production. This gives each product that aged look and rough hewn feel that gets better with each wearing. Today, Hollywood Trading Company belts and accessories are sold by A-list stores around the world.
