Marc Jacobs was born in New York City in 1963. He entered the Parsons School of Design and won the Perry Ellis Gold Thimble Award. He started his signature line, the Marc Jacobs Collection in 1994, then Marc Jacobs Men in 1997 and finally a less expensive diffused line called Marc By Marc Jacobs in 2000. Jacobs is currently the artistic director for Louis Vuitton. He is one of the most prominent designers on the fashion scene. Marc Jacobs is also known for his collaboration projects with brands such as Vans Footwear and in the FW'07 season he has collaborated with Wrangler.
